MIM Organization Description

Below is a description of MIMS organization for Mechanical, Masonry, and Engineering, Installation & Repair. Included are the lines of authority, responsibility and communication between field crews as well as the home office support. The descriptions below are in two categories listing a typical organization description for small projects and a second description for larger projects and turnarounds.

Authority Levels
At the conception of a project the Manager / Project Manager will be the primary contact. The Managers & Project Managers have complete authority for signing contracts and issuing projects to the field crews. MIM has developed a very proactive hourly workforce, which tends to make the level of authority unique. The Managers / Project Managers have the duty working with our superintendents to assure schedules and costs are tracked and controlled. During all of our projects that exceed the small project criteria and, all out of town projects / turnarounds, costs and schedules are tracked directly at the job site to assure the customer has the latest information possible at all times. When the Superintendent is on site he has complete authority for all safety and project decisions. All of our field supervision work closely at all times with our home office regarding material coordination and pricing and also have a direct means of communication with the home office.

Small Projects
During a typical small project our foreman and superintendents will run all morning tailgate meetings and have the responsibility for all Quality Control. We would staff one or two foremen to the project to make sure the superintendent has time to maintain safety and a quality installation at all times. As in all MIM Projects, the main office provides all needed support including Management, Scheduling, Safety and Quality Control.

Large Projects & Turnarounds
During this type of project there would be a full time safety representative staffed. In addition, there would also be a Manager / Project Manager on site during the day shift to attend meetings and track all areas of the turnaround or project (safety, cost, schedule etc.… ) . There would also be a material coordinator on site to maintain a smooth flow of material to the job site in ample time to maintain an effective schedule and help control purchases. During many large projects a quality control representative would also be staffed, usually on customer request or during larger intensive shutdowns like cement plants, Power Plants, FCC, Hydrocracker and CALISINER units.
